A young couple in West Seattle, purchased their 1950s home a few years ago and were ready to upgrade materials rethink the layout and replace most of the appliances to better support how they cook and live.

A dividing non bearing wall is being removed to open up the space. Everything was carefully reviewed and inspected by a structural engineer and supported by a highly collaborative contractor which allowed the design to move forward with confidence. The goal is to honor the warmth and character of the original home while introducing cozy elevated finishes and playful color moments that feel current and intentional.

This couple loves to cook so the added space and improved flow will make a big difference. The breakfast nook includes built in benches with lift up lids adding hidden storage and making the kitchen even more functional for everyday life.
